Welcome to

Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic

A member of National Panhellenic Conference

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD GUIDELINES

For High School Senior Women:
To apply for a scholarship as a High School Senior woman, you must attend the Scholarship Social.  Date, time and location information will be sent to the high school counselors.  Scholarship applications are available only to those eligible high school senior women who register and attend the Scholarship Social.  Attendees must sign in and provide contact information for the application to be emailed.  You may not forward the application to a friend who wasn’t in attendance.

The Scholarship Social provides you the opportunity to meet the members of the Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic, and discuss and discover what it means to be a member of a National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sorority.  We will review facts vs. fiction, and talk abut the benefits of sorority membership.  You will also learn about our scholarship opportunities. Remember, you must RSVP to the Social Chair.  Your parents are welcome to attend with you.

Eligibility requirements - applicants must meet all of these requirements:

  • Reside in Glendale, Burbank, La Canada, La Crescenta, Montrose, Tujunga or Sunland, California, or currently attend and will graduate from one of the public or private high schools in those residential areas in the spring 2018.
  • Have a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0, verified by an copy of  your high school transcript
  • Will  attend a 4 year college or university in the fall of the year the Scholarship Social occurs.

All applications, transcripts, photo and letters of recommendation must be submitted electronically to the email address on the application.

The Scholarship Chair must receive your completed application, including photo, transcript and all letters of recommendation no later than the deadline date printed on the application.  Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline date will be disqualified.  All materials must be submitted electronically.

The Scholarship Committee will review all applications.   After the review, the Scholarship Chair may invite applicants to attend a personal interview; it is possible that not all applicants will be interviewed.   Interviews are held on a specific date, in the evening, during the week.  Each interview lasts about 30 minutes.   While every attempt is made to arrange interviews so they to not conflict with an applicant’s work or school commitments, time is limited and once an interview is scheduled, it may not be rescheduled.  A family member or friend may accompany the applicant, but may not sit in on the actual interview.

Applicants will be notified at a later date regarding scholarship award decisions.
